Dr. Robert Braddock Bell

Robert Bell Obituary

Dr. Robert Braddock Bell passed peacefully from this life Monday morning, January 25, 2010 secondary to Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Dr. Bell was born September 5, 1931 in Taunton, Massachusetts. He was honorably discharged as a Specialist from the U.S. Army serving 1955-1957. He received his PhD in 1964 from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

He worked as a psychologist in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Augusta, Georgia; Clarksburg, West Virginia, where he was Chief of Psychology and in Mississippi, Biloxi and Gulfport. His tenure had him dedicated to working with a majority of Veterans of the Vietnam War, for which he felt honored.

He enjoyed his time with the British Motoring Club of New Orleans and the Mississippi Artists' Guild. He was Episcopal and lived a faithful life.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice Brenneman Bell. He lives in loving memory through his daughter, Ruth, her husband, LCDR Matthew Ian Weber and their children: Elisabeth, Robert, Albert and Laural; his son, Patrick M. Bell; his daughter, Alicia, her husband, Craig Jackson and their children, Harold and Charles.
