Anita Lanard Obituary

Anita Lanard, born 10/1/20, died 10/28/14. Loving wife of Alan Lanard, deceased, beloved mother to her son Steven Lanard, daughter Nancy Lanard & grandson, Michael Pollack. Born in Cincinnati, OH, she was an accomplished child pianist and won a state championship in OH for her skills. Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BS and MS degree. Anita studied for her PhD in linguistics at Temple University. An adored and award winning 3rd and 4th grade teacher and principal, her students still remember her with glowing remarks decades later. Anita volunteered her time as a consultant for Boca Raton Schools to improve their class programs. She was an accomplished bridge player; she and her bridge partner won tournaments week after week. She was a beautiful, bright, energetic woman who looked and acted years younger than she was. A long time independent resident of Edgewater Pointe Estates, she enjoyed helping new residents get acclimated. Anita will be remembered as a kind and generous friend, mother and grandmother, who will be missed by all who knew her. Shiva will be observed at the PA home of her daughter, on Monday, November 3rd, at 6:30PM, 200 Eisenhower Lane, North Wales, PA 19454. Please make memorial contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
