Beatrice Norma Silverman

Beatrice (Bea) Silverman passed away peacefully January 25, 2016 at her home in Boca Raton, Fla. Born Beatrice Norma Zelman on Feb.16,1922 in Brooklyn, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Silverman. She was beloved mother of daughter Karen, and son Michael and his wife Elizabeth and their daughters Abby and Danny. Sister to Annette Meindel, Sydell Wertheim and Gloria Steinberg. She lived her early years in Hoboken, NJ where she attended Demarest High School, then secretarial school. Bea worked at the West New York Housing Authority for many years before moving to Florida. Bea gave her time to the Sisterhood of the Hoboken Synagogue and to the Brandeis Bookstore in Boca Raton. She loved to travel, especially Italy and Aruba, but most of all loved playing mahjong with her dearest friends Sue and Sylvia. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and her humor, kindness, warmth and strength will be missed.
