Gines Jimenez Obituary

JIMENEZ Jimenez, Gines, Jorge, 41, of Ft. Lauderdale, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2002. Mr. Jimenez became well known in town as he developed his "Talk Of The Town" party consultant and design firm. He later turned his attention to successful real estate investment ventures. Gines, however, was best known for his tireless efforts in helping the needy. His generosity has been appreciated by many local and national organizations. His mother Cecilia Lezcano, grandmother, Rosina Vidana, uncle and aunt, Rene and Eva Vidana, uncle, Carlos Vidana and uncle, Jorge Jimenez, survive him. His many cousins will also miss him, among them, Lucas, Seth and Jorge's daughters. He will be missed by many and most especially by Mary Porter, his closest friend and companion, with whom he cherished a very special relationship. The family will receive friends Monday, December 23, 2002, 5:00-9:00 PM at FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME NORTH, 200 West Copans Road, Pompano Beach, where funeral services and interment will be Tuesday, 11:00 AM.

What a sad loss to our community! George's positive attitude and generosity will be missed by many people here in Fort Lauderdale. George was briefly on the board of directors here at the Gold Coast Jazz Society and he always gave me upbeat, solid advice. My condolences to his mother and family. I shall miss this lovely man, but his love and friendship will always be remembered.
