Joseph DeLillo Obituary

Joseph Arthur DeLillo, 61, passed away on February 16, 2015 with his family and loved ones by his side at home in Plantation, FL after a short yet devastating battle with cancer. Joseph will be remembered by all who knew him as an honorable, hardworking man's man whose integrity, loving heart and piousness were made evident in the structures he built, the words he wrote and the lives he touched. Joseph cherished his family above all and dedicated each day to imparting his wisdom, values, and life lessons to his children, as his father did before him. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife Mary Tochtermann, sons Joseph and Steven, stepsons Justin and Ryan Tochtermann, sister Joann Pumphrey and family, daughter-in-law Domenica, and granddaughter Layla. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Helen DeLillo, sister Florence Mistler, stepdaughter Heather Tochtermann, niece Adriana Pumphrey and aunt and uncle, Mary and Andrew Bender. Funeral Mass will be held at St. David's Catholic Church at 10am on Saturday, February 21, 2015. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joseph's memory.

He was simply a "Good Joe" whether you were working with him or socializing. I'm sure the Lord already has him under a design/build contract. The beer booth at St. David's Carnival will never be the same without him. A devoted Christian, patriot and intellectual. Rest in Peace my good friend as we join your loved ones in mourning.

Joe and I worked at Hortt, 17 years, 1991-08 exchanging amusing and humorous observations and amazement of the socio-political environment we worked in. I am surprised at his passing. Please accept my most sincere heartfelt condolences. When we lose a friend and loved one on earth, the Father gains an angel in heaven through Jesus Christ his son with the earthly encouraging guidance of the Holy Spirit. Take comfort in knowing that Joe's soul has found its place with Yeshua in heaven. May God grant comfort and Shalom until we all rest with our creator in Shalom. My deepest sympathy goes out to all his family and friends. We miss him, so.
