Roger was a dear friend of mine. He and I spent a great deal of time together when we were in Turkey. I was stunned to learn he had passed away in 2013. I could tell numerous stories of great things he did for so many people, and how he cared for those who needed help. Roger will continue to be missed, and regarded as a true hero for his service to our country, and his fellowman. Godspeed my friend!

The world lost a special person with the passing of Roger, my brother. He was the bright light for Meral, Margaret and her family, his grandchildren and his son, Roger Jr. and his family.
My sister and I will miss his wit, humor and his on target remarks about everything in life. Time and faith will help us live without his presence knowing he is at peace with God in heaven.. Pat and Ray Knight & family

This is one of those time when there just aren't any words to describe the tremendous loss I feel. My brother, my hero, the intellect, the loving husband, the loving father and grandfather, how blessed we were to have you in our lives To all of my brother's family, all I can do is pray that you are given the strength to cope with this tremendous loss! I'm so sad that I hadn't been able to see Papa Roger in many years. He will definitely be missed, and I will be missing the whole family this week. I will think of you all on Wednesday, and wish that I could be there with you. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to fly this close to my due date. I love you all, and am thinking of you and praying for you.

I will always remember doing crosswords with Roger while we all bunked together at the lake house after hurricane Wilma. He was a walking encyclopedia/dictionary and so very kind. Thinking of all of you!
