Oleta "Maggie" Scott, 97, of Blackwell, died on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2014 in Bronte, Texas.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at Blackwell First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Hewitt officiating. Interment followed at Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
She was born in Blackwell on June 3, 1917. Oleta was a lifelong resident of Blackwell. She was a member of Blackwell First Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters, Nelda Cranford and husband Tommy of Midland, Judy Hanks and husband Dan of Midland and Kay Kovach and husband George; grandchildren, Sheila Henderson, the late Steve Kovach, Scott Cranford and wife Missy, Melissa Lickteig and husband Michael and Hudson Hanks and wife LeAnn; six great-grandchildren; three great-step grandchildren; five great-great-step grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on May 16, 2002 and grandson Steven Kovach on Oct. 10, 2008.
Pallbearers were Thurman Self, Tommy White, Steve Heckman, Scott Cranford, Hudson Hanks, Steve Henderson and Michael Lickteig.
Honorary pallbearers were Bradlee Huffman, Nicholas Huffman, and Jack Lickteig.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Blackwell First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 416, Blackwell, TX 79506.
