James "Jim" Graham McCloud

James "Jim" Graham McCloud, age 61, of Newell, Ala., died on Monday, January 17, 2022, in Smyth County, Va. He was born on April 18, 1961, in Richlands, Va., a son of the late Robert William and Dorothy Graham Stinson McCloud.

Jim was a Jack-of-All Trades, he had worked as a welder and as an over the road truck driver. He enjoyed being outside fishing and hunting. He liked to gather his friends from Alabama to ride motorcycles over the Back of the Dragon so he could brag about where he was raised. He loved his family, friends and dogs. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen McCloud; and one brother, John William McCloud.

Those who survive to cherish his memories include his children, James William McCloud and Caitlyn Rae McCloud, both of Marion, Va.; six sisters, Sylvia Jane Meeks of Ranburne, Ala., Mary Ann Fields of Tazewell, Va., Patsy Lee Kinder of Tannersville, Va., Carol Lynn Combs of Tazewell, Va., Nancy Karen Combs of Catabwa, Va., and Amanda Ruth Bailey of Tazewell, Va.; two grandsons, James Cayden McCloud and Chandler Abram Billings; special pets, Jake and Max; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A memorial service, celebrating the life of Jim McCloud, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va., with Pastor Chris White officiating. In keeping Mr. McCloud's wishes, his body will be cremated and burial will follow at a later date.
