Linda Alice Moncrief

Linda Alice Moncrief, 65, of Tallahassee died Sunday (4/19). Born in Memphis TN to James and Marcie Porter on June 10, 1949, she spent most of her school years in Memphis and graduated from Memphis Technical High School in 1967. Prior to her marriage to Phillip in 1974, she worked as a medical assistant and was a volunteer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Linda lived in Hartford, Ct. and Pensacola, FL before moving to Tallahassee in 1991. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a charter member of Good Samaritan United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband: Phillip, mother: Marcie Porter of Humbolt, TN, uncle: O.C. (Amelia) Tucker of Memphis, TN; cousins: Jackie (Gary) Autry and Joe (Cindy) Cheeks both of Milan, TN.

Linda is predeceased by her father and brother: Kenny Porter.

A memorial service will be held at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church on Monday, June 15th at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to either the Good Samaritan UMC Building Fund, 3720 Capital Circle SE, Tallahassee 32311 or a charity of your choice.

Phil, I was so sorry to hear about Linda. The love between you two was so clear and heartwarming. You are both a blessing to Tallahassee and Good Samaritan Methodist church. Thank you both for you many kindnesses to my sister, Jillian.
