GRIFFIN, Barbara Virginia Minton 87, of Tampa passed away on July 4, 2023, in Tampa, Florida. Barbara V. Minton Griffin was born in Tampa, Florida to Curtis Alvin Minton and Laura Isabel McMenomy Minton Rodgers on January 22, 1936. She went to school at Jackson Heights Grammar School and Woodrow Wilson Junior High School in Tampa, Florida. She married Jerome "Jerry" Kenneth Jr. on September 3, 1960 in Clearwater, Florida. She graduated from Henry B. Plant High School. She worked as a Photo Retoucher for Color Corporation of America for 35 years, as well as mothered her two beautiful daughters. She thoroughly enjoyed literature, music (specifically, Johnny Mathis and Ray Charles), and film, sang soprano in her church choir, played the piano, modeled in fashion shows, sewed beautiful garments, swam recreationally, adored time at Clearwater Beach, participated in tap and jazz in her youth, and was, and always will be, an instrumental part of her family. Barnes, Margaret Linda McMenomy Houseman, Robert Houseman, Miriam "Micki" Ethel Kiess Griffin Acebal, Jerome K. Griffin Sr., Gloria Minton Fuentes, Elliott Fuentes, Alan Houseman, Jerome "Jerry" Kenneth Griffin Jr., Delbert W. Jessen, John D. Minton, Mable H. Minton and Dwayne Schintzius. Barbara V. Schintzius. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Saint Mary's Catholic Church of Tampa with Father Kyle Smith of Saint Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Reception for family and friends will follow at Avila Golf & Country Club. Arrangements are by Blount & Curry Funeral Home in Carrollwood. Memorials may be given to Advent Health Hospital (on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard) in Tampa, Accent Care Hospice of Tampa and Palm Garden of Tampa. The family of Barbara V.
