Barbara ANDREWS

1959 - 2022

ANDREWS, Barbara Vale 62, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2022, surrounded by her family. Barbara was born February 21, 1959, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Shirley Massick Vale and Stanley L. Vale. A loving wife to her husband Wayne of 37 years, a devoted mother, and a cherished grandmother, Barbara dedicated her life to her family and raising her three children. Growing up, Barbara lived in many different places with her family, everywhere from Los Angeles to Chicago to Houston. After marrying in 1985, Barbara and Wayne began their lives together in Dallas, Texas, where they welcomed their first son, Nicholas. Shortly afterward, they moved to Darien, Connecticut, where they welcomed two daughters, Lucy and Hope. They finally settled in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1996, where they quickly put down roots and decided to make their forever home. Always an avid athlete, Barbara picked up tennis and became involved as a team captain at her club, The Vinoy, where she made lifelong friendships. Barbara was a fiercely loyal friend to all those who were fortunate enough to know her and served as a mother figure to many. Always willing to help those around her, she never hesitated to take in a stray animal or a lend a shoulder to lean on. Barbara lived her life with a passion that was felt by every person whose life she touched. Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Vale; father, Stanley Vale; and beloved pets, Dinky, Pumpkin, and Mama. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Andrews; son, Nicholas Andrews; daughter, Lucy Gardner and son-in-law, Andrew; daughter, Hope Andrews; granddaughter, Vivienne; brother, Kenneth Vale and sister-in-law, Lise; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration honoring Barbara's life will be held on Monday, January 31 at 10 am at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 1376 Snell Isle Blvd. NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33704. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CASA Pinellas.
