Jose ALONSO Obituary

ALONSO, Jose "Juni"

passed away October 17, 2018. He was born in Tampa, November 10, 1944 and was proud to be a native Floridian. Over the 73 years of his amazing life, he served in the armed forces, worked 37 years as a NASA engineer, was married for 51 years, and traveled the world. He raised three loving children, was a grandfather to six, and great-grandfather to one. He lived to see his daughter become an amazing mother and successful entrepreneur, was honored to be his eldest son's best man when he married his high school sweetheart, and witnessed his youngest son become an officer in the U.S. Air Force. Juni was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Helen Sanchez; his in-laws, Issie and Rudy Dominguez, who he saw as second parents; and brothers, Gilbert and Fernando. He is survived by the love of his life, Sandra; his devoted children, Joseph (Kim) Alonso, Daniel (Petra) Alonso, Dana (Stanley) King; grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, Alexis, Amari, Daenerys, Isabella; great-grandson, Wyatt; sisters and brothers, Denise (Rick) Cona, Julie (Johnny) Rodriquez, Valenda (Mike) Tate, Emilio (Lowella) Dominguez, Lily Hernandez, Irene Rodriguez, Jeannie (Burt) Thomas, Sandra Sanchez, and Danny and David Rodriguez. A Celebration of Life will be held November 10, 2018 at La Teresita, 3248 West Columbus Dr., 1-4 pm.

Juni, RIP my friend!
We were childhood friends and then you ended up marrying one of my "best friends"!
You both have been blessed with a beautiful family and a great life!
You will really be missed by all!
We have shared special times and sad ones too.
