Myriam DELGADO-JENKINS

DELGADO-JENKINS, Myriam Dolores of Tampa, Florida, passed away into God's embrace on September 15, 2021, at age 78. Myriam was born April 16, 1943, in Jovellanos, Matanzas, Cuba. She was surrounded by family and close friends who loved her very much. Her kindness, love and humor gave us all a passion for life. She also served as a model of courage when she escaped from Cuba to the U.S. with her husband, mother, and sister in a small boat, while eight months pregnant in 1963; and she made many sacrifices to give her family a better life. Myriam was a fearless person using her wit and humor to disarm us in kind ways. She was devoted to her family and always supported her children and grandchildren. She loved jokes, as well as reading and watching mysteries and playing the piano. She had a way of instilling kindness in others with her contagious smile and worry-free spirit. A very social person, Myriam lived in Jovellanos, Varadero, Miami, Hartford, Stone Mountain, and Tampa and made friends wherever she lived. She celebrated life by making family, friends, and co-workers laugh and enjoy a great time. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and great friend to many. Myriam is survived by her husband of 60 years, Humberto Delgado-Jenkins; son, Jesus Delgado-Jenkins (Monica Ochoa); and daughter, Maribel Delgado (Rolando Morffy); four grandchildren, Nicholas Morffy (Catherine Morffy Smith), Christopher Morffy, Maya Delgado, and Marco Delgado; and sister, Lillian Zayas (Alfredo Zayas); and niece, Lillian Carver (Carl Carver). Visitation for Myriam will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 6-8 pm,at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610 (www.dignitymemorial.com). A funeral service will occur Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 10 am, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610. A committal service will occur Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11 am, at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park, 5048 E. Lake Ave., Tampa, FL 33610.
