Ruth STEARNS Obituary
(Robbins) 87, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on May 14, 2018 after a long battle with complicated health issues. She was born in Tampa, raised in Turkey Creek, FL, and graduated from Turkey Creek High School. She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Thomas "Tom" Stearns in 2012. Her parents were James Boswell and Lucy Robbins. Ruth is survived by her sons, Hubert C. (Joellen)and Dwight (Donna); her daughter, Joyce Eileen (Mert); ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Ruth loved flowers and watching golf on TV. She was a capable mate on her sailboat with her husband. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse who cared deeply for her patients and their families. She had a beautiful smile, great wit, and made many friends throughout her life. Her wishes to have her remains mingled with those of Tom and spread over the Gulf of Mexico will be honored. Please keep her in your hearts and cherish the soul she had. Services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, May 18 at Whitfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

A kind and loving lady. She was courageous in doing everything necessary she knew important. For my father Thomas M. Stearns she brought happiness, peace and great love. Ruth was one of the strongest people I've ever known and she taught me many lessons. It was a privilege to have shared her with all her family.
