Scott McKENZIE Obituary

McKENZIE, Scott

Alexander "The Dog"

54, of Odessa, passed away May 8, 2016, after battling for a painful year with pancreatic cancer. He passed away at home, surrounded by his family and friends. Scott was born in Marion, IN to the late William and Patricia McKenzie. He is survived by his wife, Heather Vaughn, and two children, Jasmine and Jordan. He is also survived by his sister, Dawn Hanna Bell and her husband, Mark Bell; nephew, David Hanna; great -nephew, Connor Hanna, and aunt, Donna Williams, all of Michigan. Scott was raised with horses and his deep love kept him involved with them his whole life. He not only trained them, but enjoyed riding them and continued to do so until the very end. He has passed his love and knowledge of riding onto his daughter, Jasmine. He also enjoyed spending time on the ocean with his family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 12 at his in-laws, Larry and Diane Vaughn's horse farm from 1-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lifepath Hospice will be appreciated.

All of us prayed for you so hard but God wanted you with him. No more pain, I see you riding on a horse in Heaven now, smiling and happy. You were a member of our tribe at the track and all us trackers and your friends will miss your presence here. But I know you're in a better place. Enjoy Heaven Scott.
