Edward Griffin Obituary

Edward J. Griffin, 92, of Taunton, formerly of Brockton, passed away Dec. 11, 2015. He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief Petty Officer after 24 years of service, and had been awarded a Purple Heart, Asiatic Pacific Medal with 4 Battle Stars, American Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal with 6 Stars, China Service Medal, Philippines Defense Medal, Philippines Victory Medal with Star and Combat Service Ribbon; then after 25 years had retired as Manager of Brocktons Division of Employment Services state office. He enjoyed playing golf, going on cruises and spending 13 winter seasons in Clearwater, Florida. Edward was husband of the late Gloria (Ackel) Griffin; his survivors include his beloved wife of 17 years Florence Mitchell Griffin; loving son Michael and his wife Lisa Griffin of East Bridgewater; and Florences daughter Linda Davis of Hillsborough, N.C. All are welcome to calling hours Monday 5 - 8 p.m. with an incense service at 6 p.m. in Waitt Funeral Chapel at Waitt Funeral Home, 850 North Main St., Brockton, funeral from Waitt Funeral Home Tuesday at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. service of the Divine Liturgy celebrated in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 North Main St. Brockton and burial at Calvary Cemetery.
