Kenneth Haas Obituary

Kenneth Haas, best known as Nick, passed away on December 7th. He is survived by his brother, James Haas; children Darren (Heather) Haas and Heather (Don) Strauch; his longtime love Julie Jensen; and 6 grandchildren. Born to Eleanor and Kenneth Haas, raised in Manhattan Beach, CA, he loved water sports, camping, skiing and cars…and making mischief (and music) with his two younger brothers Jim and Pat.

Marrying his college sweetheart Beverly in 1971, the two welcomed Darren in 1974 and Heather in 1980. The family enjoyed winter trips to Tahoe and summer getaways to Maui. In the early 1970's he honed in on his love for cars and opened Humbug, an auto parts shop. Years after his marriage ended, Nick began dating Julie in the early 90's. They lived the quite life on "RJH" Ranch in Ventucopa, where they rode ATVs, raised dogs & horses, and relaxed by the "Haasienda" pool.

Nick had the gift of gab and was a jack-of-all-trades; he is sorely missed but forever celebrated. Join us for a celebration of life on Friday, June 17th, 1pm at the Mermaid in Hermosa Beach.
