Timothy J. Dare Sr.

Timothy J. Dare Sr., 64, died May 6, 2010, at the Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach. He was born in Billingsville, Ind., and lived in Vero Beach for 47 years, coming from his birthplace. He had worked for Communications International for 35 years. He was an officer with the Sebastian Police Department and Indian River County Sheriff's Office for 10 years. He was a member of the Lions Club. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Susan L. Dare; son, Timothy J. Dare Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; daughters, Vonnie Sue Dare and Jennifer Lynn, both of Vero Beach; brothers, Jack Dare of Sarasota and Jerry Dare of Indiana; sister, Drenda Dare of Indiana; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sheriff's Office Gifts For Generosity Fund, 4055 41st Ave., Vero Beach, FL 32960. Services: Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. May 9 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
