Alice Krauss Obituary
Westminster - Westminster-Alice Marie (LeBlanc) Krauss, 81, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family, after an illness.
Her husband of 56 years, John A. "Jake" Krauss, died on May 24, 2012.
Alice leaves one daughter, Kathleen Columbus and her husband Robert of Templeton; three sons, William Krauss of Worcester, John Krauss of Gardner, and James Krauss and his wife Ledda of Westminster; two grandchildren, Cody Krauss and his wife Jillian and Dakota Krauss all of Worcester; one great-granddaughter, Aurora Krauss of Worcester; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Alice was born in New Brunswick, Canada on February 2, 1934, a daughter of the late Ovila and Alma (Leger) LeBlanc. She grew up in Fitchburg and was a 1952 graduate of St. Bernard's High School. She was a member of the Westminster Friendship Club and the Fitchburg Boosters Club.
Alice's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the GYN Oncology Care Team at UMass Memorial Medial Center, and the VNA Care Hospice in Worcester for the exceptional care they gave her.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
Burial will follow in the Woodside Cemetery, 9 Narrows Road, Westminster, MA 01473.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Care Hospice, Inc. 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
The Westminster Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Westminster, MA has been entrusted with Alice's funeral services.

I'm so sorry to hear that Alice has passed. Your Mom was such a special and wonderful person. She was so funny and gave great advice to me when I was young. You were all very blessed to have such a strong and fearless woman in your corner all your lives! You will be strong, because you carry her in your heart.
