Gail E. Mahoney, 79

WORCESTER - Gail E. (Lambton) Mahoney, 79, of Worcester died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at her home.

She leaves her husband of 57 years, Paul H. "Jake" Mahoney; three children, State Rep. John J. Mahoney and his wife Erin, Ann Marie Quinn and her husband John Solomon, all of Worcester, and Steven Mahoney and his wife Brianne of Newtonville; six grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Caroline and Liam Mahoney, and Kevin and Owen Quinn, all of Worcester; two sisters, Ann Aboody and Mary Lambton; and a brother, Edward Lambton, all of Dennis. Gail also leaves many close friends including her dear friends Marty Brosnan and Beverly Dumas.

Gail had been joyfully anticipating the coming birth of her seventh grandchild.

Gail was born and raised in Montreal, Canada, daughter of Edward and Frances (Spare) Lambton. She moved to Worcester in the early 1960s when she married.

Gail was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who loved her time spent with family and friends. Gail worked as an executive secretary at the Worcester law firm of Fletcher, Tilton and Whipple for many years prior to retiring.

Gail was a longtime volunteer with the Worcester St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and enjoyed spending time with "The Pearls." She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish.

Gail enjoyed many summers on Cape Cod, and especially loved spending time there with her sisters, children, and grandchildren. She was passionate about traveling and always encouraged her children and grandchildren to explore the world.

Calling hours are Tuesday, August 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral will be Wednesday, August 15, with a service at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will be private.
