When I was 12 or 13 years old, my Maine Coon cat developed a stone-like bowel obstruction due to his long fur and was expected to die, but a friend of the family took him to Dr. Abbott, who operated and saved him for me for perhaps another year or so. I am now in my 80s, but I have never forgotten Dr. Abbott and always think of him with gratitude.

I share Bill Dewey's sentiments completely. I remember how very, VERY hard he tried to save our little red kitten named Kimmy. The kitten's ears looked like Kimmy's pigtails. Heaven will be a happier place with George to make them laugh--I know my father will be glad to see him again. My sincere condolences to all of you.

I remember Dr Abbott when he would bring the vet students to the TC SPCA and when he donated his time to provide rabies vaccinations to the shelter animals. He was a very pleasant man, great teacher and fun to work with.

I can't remember the last time I was able to visit with Uncle George. It has been many, many years. One of my most fond memories is blue fishing with him as a young boy. I can see him standing on the bow of his boat casting wildly for blue fish as the tide slacked and the blues started jumping all around the boat. He had this crazed look as he called out "blue, blue, blue, blue, blue!" and cast madly.

I also remember how much I looked forward to visiting him because he made us all laugh so hard.

My condolences to Aunt Dorothy and the family. Dr. George was a great friend to my Dad and I will always cherish my memories with him.
