Richard McLaughlin Obituary
Mr. McLaughlin was a self employed contractor throughout the area where he built many homes. He later worked for EJ Cross Construction in Worcester 20 years. He was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran serving in the Armed Guard protecting Liberty Ships. He fought in the Battle of the Atlantic. A member of VFW Post 1466 and the American Legion both in NY, he also belonged to the Ichtus Club, was a Douglas Volunteer Firefighter and served on the Democratic Town Committee. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a former member of St. Denis Church.
His funeral will be held Thurs, Oct. 29 from Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St, Douglas with a Mass at 11 am in St Denis Church, 23 Manchaug Rd. Burial will follow in St Mary's Cemetery, Granite St, Uxbridge. Calling hours at the funeral home are Thurs, Oct. 29 from 9 to 10:30 am. Donations may be made to the Shelter for Homeless Vets, 69 Grove St, Worcester, MA 01605.

Annette (Connie's sister) and I have enjoyed Richard's humor, cooking and stories of the US Navy for several years. He was a fine person and I enjoyed visiting with him in Plattsburgh, NY and sharing a drink at the local VFW. He will be missed. Don Hudenburg, Herndon, Virginia
