William Blizard Obituary
The Villages, Florida - William Raycraft Blizard died March 2nd, 2016 at 84 years of age. He was the loving husband of Pauline Thibeault for 63 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Irma Burke and Alan Blizard, his brothers Alan, D. Kenneth, sister Marjorie Rej and his son John Michael.
He so loved his children: Ann B.Viar wife of Peter A. Viar of Deerfield, NH; Margaret B. Nerbonne wife of Daniel J. Nerbonne of Houston, TX; Steven W. Blizard husband of Darla Crouse of Wind Gap, PA; Charles D. Blizard husband of Nancy B. Church of Palm Coast, FL; and Paul F. Blizard of Springfield, NJ; 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. All will miss him dearly.
He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Milford, MA and Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
He served his country in the navy for six years during the Korean Conflict. Bill worked for Swift and Company; Colgate Palmolive and was Director of Consumer Sales for Columbus McKinnon Corp., Amherst, NY.; retiring to Falmouth on Cape Cod, MA before moving to The Villages, FL.
He enjoyed volunteering as a Mediator in small claims court both in Barnstable County, MA and Lake County, FL for ten years, gave over one thousand hours at the Village Hospital, ending his volunteering with Seniors versus Crime in Marion County FL, when he became ill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House, 601 Casa Bella The Villages, FL 32162
There was a gathering of family and friends at his home, on Sunday, March 6th. Burial will be at a later date.
