To the family and friends of Keith Ellis from Dan Shilstat-Manager of the Nashville Community Concert Band.
During Keith's tenure with Belmont University, the NCCB played eight spring concerts with the Belmont Band in the Spring. Keith and I ended up folding up the concerts and equipment and talked a good bit about community music and his desire to help the amateur community groups be showcased. I was always glad to see him at Tuba Christmas and will miss him. He was a very talented and giving person.
Thanks -Keith from me and all of us at the Nashville Community Concert Band.

Grace, Barry, and family,
It is so hard to believe that Keith is gone. I really enjoyed talking with him at Aunt Verla's funeral. We had fun remembering the good times we shared in Bennett as children. It seems so unfair that distance kept us from visiting like we should have.
I am thankful that Dan, Aunt Verla, and Uncle Worth were in Heaven to greet Keith. I know they are having a joyful celebration together.
Love and prayers!

Grace and Barry, we are all so saddened to hear about Keith's death. I can see him playng the trumpet in heaven with Uncle Worth and Aunt Verla applauding and Dan directing the orchestra. He had so many accomplishments and we enjoyed talking with him in NC during Aunt Verla's funeral services. It was easy to talk to him and he seemed fun to be around.

Mrs. Ellis and Barry, I was so saddened to hear of Keith's passing this morning via email. I will be lifting you in prayer during this time of loss. Keith was a blessing in my life since childhood. His dry wit always put a smile on my face. I am sad that I will not see him here again, but know I will see him again someday.

Grace and Barry,
I am so sorry about your great loss. I will always remember the cute little boy he used to be as well as the accomplished man he became. I am certain that Uncle Worth and Aunt Verla are embracing him. I hope that with time his love for you and yours for him will only bring you pleasure instead of the pain you feel now.
Love,
Robin

I am so saddened to hear about the loss of Dr. Ellis. I work at the University of MS and he and I became friends. He was also my daughter, Michelle's, trumpet instructor. Such a super young man and such a great influence, not only on my daughter, but all the students he was in contact with. Such a God-given musical talent he had and such a great gift of teaching. Thank you for sharing him with us. My deepest sympathy to each of you.

Keith always had a smile for everyone he encountered. His sense of humor and incredible playing was a welcome addition to the trumpet section of any band. He was a wonderful person, who followed in his father's footsteps by educating young musicians. He will be greatly missed, but is rejoicing with Daddy Dan. Barry, our thoughts and prayers are with you, Terri and your children.

To Keith's family, and especially his mom - I'm so, so sorry to hear of Keith's passing. Keith and I sat side by side in many a concert, and were friends and friendly competitors. His dad was an inspiration to us all, and I'm sure, even though I haven't seen Keith in many years, that he did an excellent job of following in his footsteps. My thoughts are with you all.
