Mr. David Clayton Hughes, age 84 passed away peacefully at his home in Burke Hollow with his loving family by his side on April 17, 2016.
Native of Rutherford County, TN; veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was a member and long-time elder of Belleview Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Retired moldmaker from Aladdin Industries and a life-long farmer, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Preceded in death by son, David Kerry Hughes; parents, Garvin Clayton & Winnie May David Hughes; sisters, Juanita Johnson, Hester Smith & Margaret Brooks. Survived by: wife, Betty Jenkins Hughes; son, Jeff Hughes; daughters, Debbie (Len) Stephens & Cheryl Hughes; brother, Owen Thomas Hughes; grandchildren, Matthew Stephens & Mallory (Charlie) Morrow.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Rev. James Miller officiating. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Hughes, Len & Matthew Stephens, Charlie Morrow, Stephen & William Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Herbert Nichols, Price Hunter, men of Belleview Church and nephews. Memorials may be made to Belleview CP Church or American Heart Association. Visitation will be 4-8PM Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at
