February 20, 2014. Reverend Walker served as pastor to numerous churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and both Columbia for nine years at St. Paul AME Church, and since October of 2013 in Clarksville, Tennessee at St. Peter AME Church.
Reverend Walker is preceded in death by parents, Lester and Willie Ann Walker.
He is survived by devoted wife, Faye Evelyn Walker; children, Sharon (Kent) Murrell, Shelley (Julian) Steele and James H. Walker, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Karl (LaShondia) Chambers of Columbia, TN and Angela (Robert) Lawrence of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Vincent Summerlin, Jr., David Summerlin, Kylar Murrell and Kyara Murrell of Cincinnati, OH, Ralph Harvey, Goodletsville, TN, Robert Lawrence, Jr. of Madison, TN, Dannise Warrick of Murfreesboro, TN; great-grandchildren, Kennedi, David II, Marley, Phoenix and Kaitlin; siblings, Lester Walker, Jr. of Lithonia, GA, Helen Jones and Brenda Miles of Cincinnati, OH; maternal aunt, Claudine Hines of Cleveland, OH; former spouse, Carol J. Walker of Cincinnati, OH; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public viewing for Rev. Walker will be Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 12-5 p.m., at Lewis & Wright Funeral Directors, and on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 10-11 a.m., at Greater Bethel AME Church, 1200 South St. Funeral to follow with Presiding Elder W. Antoni Sinkfield officiating and Bishop Jeffrey Leath as eulogist. Interment at Middle TN Veterans Cemetery.
