LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016, at 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette for Jason Fontenot, age 36, who passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at his residence in Broussard.

Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

The Very Reverend Chester C. Arceneaux, VF, Rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass.

A native of Lafayette, Louisiana and a resident of Baton Rouge, Jason was a loving son, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University with a Masters Degree in Finance. Jason was passionate about his work, and was Co-Founder and Senior Analyst for Cane Capital Management LLC for over 9 years. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was an avid sports fan who especially loved his Tigers and the Saints. Jason was courageous, fun loving and charismatic. He had numerous friends, whom he considered as family, and were very dear to him. Jason cherished his time with his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish Jason's memory are his parents, Diane Boudreaux Fontenot and Arlin Fontenot; his brothers, Bryan Fontenot and David Fontenot and his wife, Danielle; his niece, Elizabeth Grace Fontenot; his nephews, Reed Fontenot and Wesley Fontenot; his maternal grandmother, Anna Boudreaux; his aunts and uncles, Judy and Don Jones, Chuck and Linda Boudreaux, Calvin Boudreaux, Vernon Fontenot, and Hughlan and Loretta Fontenot; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Peter Wilson Fontenot and Laura Touchet Fontenot, and his maternal grandfather, Charles Boudreaux.

Pallbearers will be Reed Fontenot, Wesley Fontenot, Shelly Gupta, Brent Berwick, Jonathan Kelly, Travis Boudreaux, D.J. Ashy, Scott Fangue, and Otis Stander.

A Rosary will be recited by Brady LeBlanc on Friday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location.

The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jason's name to MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486 Houston, Texas 77210-4486 .
