Joseph Stansbury Obituary
LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Joseph Howard Stansbury, Jr. age 82, who died at 11:36 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at his residence in Duson.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Lafayette will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Burley J. Pellerin, II and Craig Stansbury. Giftbearers will be Jacque Rowe and Ava Claire Louviere.
Survivors include his loving wife, Alice Pellerin Stansbury; his daughters Lisa Ann Stansbury and her mother Dolores Stansbury, Valerie Louviere and her husband Cody and Victoria Pierce and her husband, Shannon; two sons Quentin Rowe and his wife Lindsey and Jacque Rowe; eight grandchildren, Mac Rowe, Gabriel Rowe, Logan Rowe, Adelyn Rowe, Levi Louviere, Ava Claire Louviere, Zoe Pierce and Brodie Pierce; one sister, Sara Ann Redlich and her husband Ted and three nephews Craig Stansbury, Jeff Bennett and Stephen Bennett. He is also survived by his K-9 "Buddy", whom he loves and adores.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Howard Stansbury, Sr. and the former Sara Ann DeRouen; and his brother, Nathan Stansbury.
Mr. Stansbury was a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a veteran of military service and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Stansbury was the Fleet Manager at Service Chevrolet in Lafayette and was employed with over forty years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Stansbury will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Honorary pallbearers will be Quentin Rowe, Jacque Rowe, Cody Louviere, Shannon Pierce, Craig Stansbury, Harry Lee Domingue and Burley J. Pellerin, II.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed by Leah Guidry on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 7PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

My condolences to the Stansbury family. Mr. Howard sold me my first new car, a 1978 Camaro, always an exciting time in a young mans life. Years later he would always recognize me when ever I visited the dealership.
