Marion Russell Smithart

1929 - 2015

(Marion) Russell Smithart, 86, of Conway went to be with his Lord on Monday, Aug. 31, 2015.
He was born Monday, Feb. 4, 1929 in Omaha, Neb. to the late Fred W. and Nancy Helen Davis Smithart.
Mr. Smithart was employed for 33 years by John Deere in Ottumwa, Iowa; retiring as an inspector, he was a member of Vilonia Church of the Nazarene. On his birthday, Feb. 4, 1959 he married the love of his life, Lois Elaine DeGroot. He was a wonderful dad, papa (saw saw) and an amazing example and legacy.
Celebrating with him in heaven are his parents; his brother, Lester (Bud); and sister, Irene Holder.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Lois DeGroot Smithart; three children, Beth Ann Bullock of Conway, Lora Kay O'Lone (Dennis) of Vilonia and Brian Alan Smithart (Paula) of Madison, Ala.; a sister, Merle Underwood of Normal, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Kari), Jordan (Shelby), Austin, Justin (Lisa), Sarah (Wesley), Sean, Chase and Charlee; and five great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kassie, Khloe, Jack and Madelyn.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at the funeral home chapel with Pastor James Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Jeremy Bullock, Jordan Bullock, Austin Bullock, Justin O'Lone, Chase Smithart and son-in-law Dennis O'Lone.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charlee Smithart, Sarah Harlan, Sean O'Lone and Wesley Harlan.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Vilonia Church of the Nazarene or Hospice Home Care, 2200 S. Bowman Rd., Little Rock, AR 72211.
