Paul Thomas Grothe, 71, passed away on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, in Salinas.
Bud, as family and friends referred to him, served in the United States Army and was currently retired.
He was predeceased by his father, Don Grothe; mother, Henryetta Kraus, and brother, Richard Grothe.
Survivors include his son, Paul Grothe ll; daughter, Christy Grothe Johnson, and sister, Susan LaNovara.
There will be a Celebration of Life in his honor at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the First Methodist Church in Salinas, corner of San Luis and Lincoln. Barbecue and potluck to follow service. Please come celebrate Buds' life with a side dish and your stories of your life and times with my brother.

I have very special memories of my cousin, Bud! Great times on the farm in Kentland Indiana and special times when you all moved to Salinas, California! Loved it all!
I am so sorry for your loss, Sue.

RIP Bud, you will be missed. I will remember Bud always at work with my dad making everyone laugh.
