Perry Sorensen, 67, of Spreckels, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home in Spreckels.
Perry, a retired carpenter, had a passion for the great outdoors and found solace in the quiet of nature. He was an avid fan of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead. He also loved history and was an expert on the Backroads of California. He will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his life partner, Hilda Stevens; their beloved dog, Bob Marley, and brother, Eric Sorensen.
A Farewell Tribute will be held from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Spreckels Memorial Park, Spreckels, CA 93962.

I was very sorry to hear of Perry's passing. Although I have only known Perry for a few years and had only met him a handful of times, he was always super cool with me and easy to get along with, despite the fact we didn't know each other very well. My wife has many fond memories of her uncle from growing up and I really appreciated how welcoming he was with me the times that we were in California.
