Sharon K. Hernandez

Sharon K. Hernandez, 58, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on June 16, 2014, after a long illness. She was born on November 10, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Sharon remarried and settled in Salinas in 1984, with her husband, Dionicio Hernandez. She worked as a payroll clerk for Steinbeck Federal Credit Union until 1994; when she sufferred a stroke. After months at a rehab center; she came home. In 2009, she was excited to welcome her first granddaughter, Lilyann Katherine. In 2011, a second granddaughter, Josephina Angelique arrived. The last few years she had taken delight in watching her granddaughters grow. The Lord has taken her to a place of peace with the Angels. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by all who knew her.

Sharon is survived by, her husband of 30 years, Dionicio Hernandez; daughters, Marilyn Brown and Tanya (James) Gaspar; sister, Barbara Felkner;along with granddaughters, Lilyann and Josephina Gaspar.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Shirley Shaw and her brother, Richard Shaw, Jr.

A private viewing was held on Thursday evening, June 19, 2014 at Healey Mortuary in Salinas. Cremation has taken place.
