Elizabeth L. "Betty" Pettifer

Franklin Twp. - Elizabeth L. "Betty" Pettifer (nee Robbins), 94, of Franklin Twp, NJ passed away on Sunday morning June 3, 2018. Betty was born in Millville, raised in Vineland and was a longtime Franklin Twp resident. She was the daughter of the late Otto Robbins & Sara (English) Jaggers. She is predeceased by her husband Douglas Pettifer in 2002 as well as her step brother Lawrence Jaggers.

Betty and Doug were married for 59 years. After their retirement they enjoyed wintering in Florida and traveling around the US.

Family was the most important thing to Betty. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her official career was homemaker but she also was "grandmom" to the kids at Early Years Nursery School and assistant to Mother Goose at Storybook Land. She enjoyed the PTA, porch sitting, watching birds, gardening, reading, crafts, and eating chocolate.

A life-long member of the Newfield First United Methodist Church, she participated in the Young at Hearts senior group and enjoyed attending services.

Betty is survived by her daughters Jeri Mounier (R. Alan), Robin Pettifer, son Donald Pettifer (Francine), grandchildren Geoffrey & Alec Pettifer, Sara Brummer (Jeff), Marianna Tasso (Andrew), Jessica Spence (Royall), great grandchildren Kaylie, Aubrey, Henry, Elizabeth, Lenora, Beatrice, Autumn, and step brother Joseph Jaggers (Marion).

Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday June 6, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Newfield First United Methodist Church, Columbia Ave. & Elmo St., Newfield, NJ where her funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM.
