Steven Whitney Obituary
He was born on January 19, 1964, in Carson City, to Loy and Marilyn (Rockafellow) Whitney. Steve was the youngest of 4 children. He was a nurse in the area for 20 years where he made many long-lasting friendships. He was adored by many of his patients and truly enjoyed working at the Carson City Pain Clinic. When he wasn't working, Steve lived and breathed golf (unfortunately, the PGA never called him) because everyone knew he was waiting! He also enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He was very handy and loved working with his hands and could be found building many things. Most of all, Steve enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving Steve are his wife of 26 years, Michelle; sons Brandon, Garrett (Kelly), and Johnathon McCracken; daughter Chelsea (Jared) Jensen; granddaughter Kaylie McCracken; brothers Kirk (Judy), Jeff (Linda), and Randy. He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Derek.
Steve's family will greet family and friends on Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the Crystal Community Center, from 12pm until 3pm. A private graveside service will take place at Crystal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish, may donate in Steve's memory to his family.
