Emily Boro Obituary

Old Lyme - Emily (Seward) Boro passed away on May 19, 2013.

She was the daughter of James Morgan Seward and Ina Gwyn (Storey) Seward.

Emily was the director of Editorial Operations at the New England Journal of Medicine and the managing editor of M.D. Computing. Ms. Boro raised her family in West Newton, Mass., and retired to Old Lyme, to a life with her husband, dear friends, books, bridge, cats, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. She lived through a difficult last year with cancer with grace, love, and humor.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, the sculptor, Gilbert V. Boro; her sons, Alex and Jason Boro; her daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Gaffney and Neerja Sharma; her beloved grandchildren, Lucy, Willa, and Kareena; her sister, Gwyn Singer; and her nephews, Ian McCary and Greg and Cliff Boro.

Her family and wonderful friends grieve the loss of a generous, beautiful woman of keen insight, kind words, and tremendous dry wit.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Emily was a beautiful woman both inside and out! Her sense of humor, her kindness will surely be missed. I worked closely with Emily at the Beth Israel Hospital, in Clinical Computing.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Boro family.

Best,
Laurie Baires
