Born March 26, 1916 in Bristol, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alvina (Brault) Carter.
On Sept. 5, 1937, she and Joseph LaChance were married in Millerton, NY; he died on June 28, 1976.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday directly at St. Ann Church, 289 Arch St., Avon. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Avon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Lung Assn., 45 Ash St., East Hartford CT 06108-3272 or to the American Heart Assn., 2550 Rte. 1, N. Brunswick NJ 08902-4301.
