Janet Eccleston Obituary
Born in Norwich, on Sept. 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Margarette (Schnor) Boynton.
She was the loving wife of Robert C. Eccleston Sr., for 61 years. They met in high school and were later married on June 17, 1950, at St. James Episcopal Church in Preston. Janet was a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy, class of 1950.
For the past 30 years she has worked as a licensed real estate agent with Partner Network Real Estate in Norwich. She truly enjoyed her work and took great pride in being a realtor.
Janet was a parishioner of St. John Church in Uncasville for many years and was a member of the Ladies Guild. She was very active in the Montville community, including her involvement with the Montville Senior Center where she was a past president, and with the Montville Rotary Club where she served as sergeant at arms of the club.
In her free time, she enjoyed square dancing with the Pequot Ramblers, bowling in the Sunsetters Bowling League in Norwich, and she was an antique car enthusiast.
She is survived by her children, Betty Ann Dessert and husband, Chuck Orr, of Uncasville and Robert C. Eccleston Jr. and girlfriend, Jennifer McLaughlin, of Oakdale; four grandchildren, George Dessert III and wife, Wendy, Dorene Dessert, Katrina Miller and husband, Herb, and Randy Wildowsky and wife, Jenn; four great-grandchildren, Cortney Wildowsky, Krystle Kiriakou and husband, Savas, Jeannette Dessert, and KayLee Dessert; a great-great-granddaughter, Ellanna Kiriakou; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert; daughter, Joyce Eccleston; and sister, Mildred Falbowkski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. John Church, 22 Maple Ave., Uncasville, meeting directly at church. Burial will follow at Comstock Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 11 Jerome Road, Uncasville.

I will so miss Janet. She was an avid painter and sat next to me in the Thursday morning Art class at the Senior Center.I know she was instrumental in getting an Art program at the center.
