Judith Bartlett Obituary

Uncasville - Judith "Judy" Bartlett passed from this life Sept. 8, 2022, at age 82. She was an only child born to Witol and Helen (Day) Casper in Haverhill, Mass. on Jan 3, 1940.

Judy hiked the Presidential range with her family summitting Mount Washington when she was seven. She was a lifelong gardener inspired by her grandmother's extensive gardens. Judy married John Clayton Bartlett in Haverhill on Nov. 2, 1963. They soon moved to Connecticut where they raised three children: Lisa Argilagos (widowed), John Bartlett (Amber) and Dr. Laurie Henry (William).

Never very far from the water the family spent many years messing around on boats. Judy loved to sew, knit, quilt and craft. Her hands were never idle. She was a girl scout leader for many years as well. Judy was very involved in her church United Congregational Church of Westerly serving on countless committees and organizing bazaars and Teas. She sang in the choir and spent many hours in service to her church for over 50 years. In 1994 she received a liver transplant and went on to compete in three Transplant Olympics winning medals in bowling and badminton.

Grandear as she was known by her grandchildren will be missed by John, Katy, Joshua, Brittany, Daniel, Jason, and Bernise and two great-grandchildren, Samwise and Kenzie. She was predeceased by her husband John; and grandson Christopher.

Judy will be remembered for her cheerful disposition. A service for family and friends will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at United Congregational Church of Westerly, 9 Castle Hill Rd., Pawcatuck. Donations can be made in her name to the New England Organ Donor Bank or UCC Church of Westerly.

Judy was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Pawcatuck in 1971. Our children went to church and school together!! She was a super lady and I am missing her a lot. My condolences to all her children!! She is pain free now. God bless her!!

Judy, you left me with so many unfinished plans. I´m still feeling disbelief, you were my Sistah, my go to for everything, a recipe, a childhood memory, gardening tips. We confided in each other, there´s so much!
Today I undid the Halloween box, and there´s the ceramic pumpkin you made for me in the 80´s. Every holiday I will unbox more things you made just for me. The Cozy Nest was our little get away, I´ll see you every time I go there.
Rest In Peace with John, Aunt Helen, Uncle Vit, Cousin Sally and many others.
