Loretta Bennardo Obituary

North Stonington - Loretta Bennardo, 82, formerly of Gales Ferry, died Thursday at Bayview Healthcare Center in Waterford.

She was born in Herkimer, N.Y., on June 30, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Carlo and Jennie (Perri) Bilotta. She was the wife of the late Stephen C. Bennardo.

She is survived by her sons, Richard J. Bennardo and his wife, Diane, of North Stonington, Stephen C. Bennardo Jr. and his wife, Ellen, of Danielson, and Michael C. Bennardo of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandchildren, Christopher Bennardo, Stephen Bennardo, Samantha Schwalbe, Matthew Bennardo, Zachary Bennardo, and Julianna Mulligan; great-grandson, Aidan Schwalbe; sister and brother-in-law, Carmella and Patrick J. O'Malley of Gales Ferry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loretta was devoted to her family and faith and enjoyed music, art, and volunteering her time to help others.

She will be greatly missed and loving remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Funeral services and burial will take place in Carbondale, Pa.

Tillinghast Funeral Home, 433 Main St., Danielson is in charge of arrangements.
