Ralph M. Curtis

New London - Ralph M. Curtis, 78, of New London, entered eternal life on Nov. 15, 2014.

He was born Jan. 24, 1936, in New London, the son of the late Edmond and Dorothy (Corino) Curtis. He attended local schools and graduated form New London High School. Mr. Curtis was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. He transferred to the Connecticut Air National Guard and was honorably discharged at the rank of staff sergeant.

He was united in marriage to the former Julia "Julie" Carrier on June 8, 1957, in St. Joseph Church; Mrs. Curtis died on May 18, 2010.

Mr. Curtis was employed for many years by the former Northeast Utilities before retiring. Ralph was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by four children and their spouses, Patricia and Ray Massari of Waterford, Donna and Ray Knight of New London, Ralph Curtis of Waterford, Michael and Gina Curtis of New London. He was affectionately known as "Pa" to his six grandchildren, Stephen Curtis, Haley Massari, Alonna and Brandon Knight, Heather and Christopher Curtis.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Impellitteri-Malia Funeral Home, 84 Montauk Ave., New London. Guests are asked to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Joseph Church, 17 Squire St., New London. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors.
