He was born in China on July 28, 1935, the son of Donald and Louba Naznsteka Eaves.
Stephen married Mary Aidonopolou in 1960, in New London.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and had worked for 36 years at Pfizer in Groton retiring as a foreman in the power house.
Stephen was a member of St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church, the AHEPA and was the treasurer of the New London County Ostomy Association.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Donald Eaves of Leesburg, Va., S. Spencer Eaves of Charlestown, R.I. and James Eaves of Quebec City, Canada; a daughter, Thelxie Eaves of Seattle, Wash.; a half sister, June Perkins of Waterford and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday at St. Sophia Church, 200 Hempstead St., New London. Interment will be in Colonel Ledyard Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
Donations in his memory may be directed to St. Sophia Hellenic Orthodox Church; or the New London County Ostomy Association, c/o Ruth Connolly, 42 Central Ave., Eastern Point, Groton, CT 06340.
