Kathrine Gomez Obituary

May 2, 1923 – April 29, 2007

Kathrine Gomez, 83, of Bryan passed away Sunday at St. Joseph Regional Hospital. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.

Kathrine was born in Robertson County to Dee R. and Ethel Sanders. She was a loving homemaker and was of the Baptist faith, having lived all of her life in Robertson and Brazos counties.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Joe Gomez.

Kathrine is survived by her son, Vernon Gomez of Austin; daughter, Kay Armstrong and husband, Mike, of Bryan; sisters-in-law, Loreda Sanders of Bryan, Mary Villareal of Bryan, Lucille Buchanna of Bryan, Rose Mary Duncan of Arlington, Trini Peterson of Arlington and Evelyn Kolhund of Louisiana; brothers-in-law, Henry Gomez of Dallas, Raymond Gomez of Kingsville, Texas, and Dr. Ralph Gomez of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and 56 nieces and nephews.
