Teresa Wenck Obituary

June 13, 1927 - Jan. 28, 2009

Teresa "Terry" Ann Wenck, went home to her heavenly Father on January 28, 2009, in Bryan, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 31, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in College Station.

Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5 to 7p.m. with a rosary at 6:30pm, Friday, January 30, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home.

She was born in Providence, R .I. on June 13, 1927, the youngest of 7 children. She traveled the world as a teacher where she eventually met the love of her life in Germany. She and Freddie Wenck went on to marry and have five devoted children.

Military life took them across the globe where she eventually went from teaching to staying at home with children to becoming a real estate broker.

She was a successful realtor in both Georgia and Texas. Upon retirement, she dedicated her time to her growing family and St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Throughout her life, Terry was a dedicated Christian who truly defined the meaning of family, love and sacrifice. She always gave of herself and touched the lives of everyone who was blessed to cross her path.

Her love was unconditional and sincere. She dedicated her life to family and God, but did so with a gentle, humble nature. She was truly a gift to the world and will be greatly missed. However, her spirit will live on in all our hearts.

She was preceded in death by husband U.S. Army (Ret.) Lt. Col. Freddie Ray Wenck; her eldest daughter, Laurie Tanguy, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her four remaining children, Karla Todd and husband, U.S. Navy (Ret.) Capt. Michael Todd, Marcia Wenck, Fred Wenck and wife, Cheryl, Andrea Hanner and husband, Rich; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, TX, 77803.

Please leave condolences at www.callawayjones.com.

To: Andrea, Karla, Marcia, Fred, and children: Your mom will always have a special place in our hearts. We remember when she brought your father to Providence from Texas to meet our family. What a handsome couple they were. We remember your mom lived in Quonset while your father was in the service and I remember visiting Ft. Monmouth, NJ when Andrea was still in a high chair and I remember how much they enjoyed living in Hawaii. I remember her calling me on my wedding day. She was a very special Aunt who meant a great deal to me. We are deeply sorry for your loss.
God bless Aunt Terry

Our deepest sympathies are with the family. Terry was a delightfully warm personality who had a positive impact on my life (Ed) and many others. She delighted in the lives of her children and grandchildren as I am sure they know. Her light shines on in the positive memories of her that we each hold in our hearts.
