Michael Patrick Finchen

1966 - 2024

Michael Patrick Finchen - father, son, brother, uncle, fisherman, stoneworker, chef, union member, and best friend - died unexpectedly on August 29th, 2024.

Mike was born to Betty Moen and Anthony Finchen on April 18th, 1966 on Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He joined his older sibling Joseph, and would soon be joined by his younger brother Tony. He grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, attending West Valley High School and later Arizona State University. Mike eventually moved to California with his high school sweetheart Dianne, where they would marry and have two sons, Cole & Clay. While here, Mike would begin his own successful flooring and countertop business, and begin his many years of being a loving and supporting father.

In 1995 they moved to Seattle, where Mike would begin working as a bricklayer, taking great pride in restoring many historic buildings in western Washington. He worked in this area for the better part of 20 years before finishing out his career as a Glazier in Hawaii, enjoying the favorable weather and less physically demanding work. His vast array of knowledge, quick sense of humor and unbelievable work ethic quickly endeared him to many of his colleagues wherever he went. As a father and friend, Mike was everything a son or a buddy could ask for, and encouraged his boys in every single endeavor they pursued.

Mike leaves a profound impact on those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother Betty, his brothers Joseph and Tony, his sons Cole & Clay, and their mother Dianne. He is preceded in death by his father Anthony.
