ROBERT JOSEPH MELSH JR. Anamosa Robert Joseph Melsh Jr., 66, of Anamosa, Iowa, died Tuesday, Oct. 19, at his home following a lengthy illness. Cremation has taken place. A private Celebration of Life and distribution of the ashes will take place at a later date. Robert Joseph Melsh Jr. was born Oct. 29, 1954 in Cedar Rapids Iowa, the son of Robert Joseph Melsh Sr. and Joyce (Ritter) Bahnsen. He attended schools in Cedar Rapids, including Jefferson High School. He pursued a career in the flooring industry, working at installing carpet and flooring — a lot of that time with Randy's flooring. Bob's passion was fishing and he was able to pursue that a lot in his final months as he courageously battled cancer. Survivors include his mother, Joyce (Ritter) Bahnsen and stepfather Eugene Bahnsen; two children, Paul and Alissa; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jeremiah, Annamarie, Cienna, Elise, Trace and Spencer; two brothers, Tom (Tiffany) and Tim (Earlene); and five nieces and nephews, Jan, Marly, Brad, Kaitlyn and Eugene. Preceding Robert in death were his father, Robert Joseph Sr.; and his sister, Linda. Special thanks to Ann Melsh for all her time and taking care of Bob and to Above & Beyond Hospice, especially his nurse, Sarah.
