Bobby Branson Obituary
Henderson, KY
Robert M. "Bobby" Branson, age 63, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 8:45 PM, Monday, April 23, 2017, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN.
Bobby was of the Methodist faith and attended both Robards Methodist and First United Methodist Church. He was a generous man who gave to all; If he saw a need, he'd fill it quietly and with humility. Bobby was a picker; he would buy and sell things and all the auctioneers knew his name. He was always looking for hidden treasures. Bobby had a bachelor's degree from Eastern Kentucky in Horticulture. He loved to grow things, even if just to give away. He enjoyed history, particularly the Civil War era and researching his family's ancestry, but most of all, Bobby loved his family. They were his greatest treasure.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, John Harold Branson and a brother, John Clifton Branson.
Survivors include:
Fiancé: Karen Reeder of Henderson, KY
Two Sons: Robert "Eli" Branson of New York and John M. Branson of Boston
Mother: Laura S. Branson of Henderson, KY
Step-Granddaughter: Courtney King
Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins
Relatives and friends are invited to Bobby's Life Celebration from 4:00- 8:00 PM Friday and again on Saturday starting at 9:00 AM at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Rick Nollmann and Cindy Green officiating. Burial will follow at Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to American Heart Association and American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.

Some people just walk into your life and they change you for the better. You are that person. Whenever I was feeling down or something was bothering me, you were the one person that I felt like calling. You could always lift my spirits and make me feel better no matter the situation. I am glad that you shared so much with me. I will miss you more than you know. Thanks for being my friend. Love ya.......

Just heard about you late today Edgar. I'm devastated. I'm so sorry I did not get to attend your funeral, you know I would've been there. I'm really sorry that we did not keep in touch these last few years. I tried to locate you about a month ago but had no luck. Something I will always regret . I will always cherish our times together and we had many. You lived your life as a free spirit and was truly a good good man. Kind, considerate, intelligent and always of good humor. From our times at EKU above Taylor's pool hall to the Shady Rest and many more, may the Lord take you into His loving arms, and give you the peace you always searched for. I love you Edgar I will never ever forget you or our time together.

Edgar, you will be dearly missed! I remember our adventures in high school with the gang, the road trips we took in college, but mostly that great sense of humor you shared. You dealt with life one day at a time with humor and passion. You were never a follower, but a man of responsibility and passion. Wish we could have made that last road trip together, but I guess our next one will be above. Love you man, Joe Judson, Jr.
