Beatrice Clark Obituary

Beatrice J. Clark, 89, of Smithfield Township, Pa. passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Oct. 14, 1918 in Smithfield Twp., the daughter of the late Owen and Roxie (Wilcox) Park. On Dec. 12, 1934, she married Manley E. Clark and together they spent 48 wonderful years together before his passing in 1982. They raised seven children together which were the theme of their life. Beatrice lived for her family and now she lives on through them. When her children were grown she was employed at Miniers Food Mart, Sylvania, Sayre Lingerie, SRU School and later at Green Thumb. In addition for the love she shared for her children and her grandchildren, Beatrice was an excellent seamstress and loved crafts such as crochet and plastic canvas. Even in failing heath she kept busy making placemats and pot holders. Much of her work adorns the homes of her family and close friends.

Beatrice and Manley owned a small travel trailer, and with their beloved dog "Tinker" spent much time camping in local parks in the summer and visiting her cousin, Polly (Al) Vargson in the winter. After the death of Manley, Beatrice continued to travel with her only sister, Elvira Noble, and spent winters with her in Arizona.

She is survived by her children: Maxine (Ted) Roy of E. Smithfield, Clyde (Phyllis) Clark of E. Smithfield, Vernon (Georgia) Clark of Elmira, N.Y., Doris (Ralph) Ward of Elmira, N.Y., Rodney (Cathy) Clark of Hillsborough, N.J., Beverly (George) Kellar and Cheryl Campbell Grimes at home. Beatrice is also survived by 31 grandchildren, Many great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Elvira Noble.

A memorial service and celebration of Beatrice's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at the E. Smithfield Federated Church, with Rev. Stanley Gill officiating.

There will be a period of visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Flowers will be provided by the family; however, those who wish, may send donations to the Ronald McDonald House of ones choice or to another charity in loving memory of Beatrice.

Arrangements and caring service is being provided by the Cooley Tioga Point Cremation and Burial Options, Athens, Pa.

With love to the Clark Family. I have many great memories of being at Manley and Beatrices' home for a Sunday dinner when Aunt Mary and Grandpa Eiffert were alive. I don't know how your Mom did it but there was always lots of food and room for us Eiffert kids. It meant a lot to my Dad to keep in touch with his cousins.
I will be in Lancaster this weekend and won't be able to see you at the Church, wish I could. It's the end of an era with your Moms passing.
With much sympathy,

I am sad to hear of her passing but I am sure she is in a great place.I always thought the world of her, her warm smile and the sweetness of her personality made her a special person.I was always amazed at how she just kept on going like the little energizer bunny.

It is sad to hear that Bea has gone but it is also a blessing to know she has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. We always enjoyed her lovely smile on Sunday morning in church. I remember coming to your house for sleigh riding parties and what fun we had. I know she is in a better place and she'll be there with all of you for eternity.
