Age 84, of Shorewood, IL passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Providence Health Care in Downers Grove, IL. She was born on September 20, 1936, to the late Thelma A. (nee Wonderley) and William Coakley Wilbourn in Olive Branch, IL, and was raised and educated in nearby Cairo, IL.

In 1958, Betty married Roy "Jack" Hardrick in Lockport, IL, where they resided most of their married lives.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (David) Moon; son, Barry (Tammie) Hardrick; grandchildren, John F. and Mary Moon; Elizabeth and Andrew Hardrick; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her best friend and caregiver, Dena Schmitt; dear friends and neighbors, Kathy Cook and Terry Kent; and her lovely Florida girls, Connie Sinex and Sally Fangman.

In addition to her husband of 35 years, she is also preceded in death by her parents; and four sisters, Margaret (late James) Henderson, Julia "Hope" (late Samuel) Moses, Patricia (late Robert) Gentry and Mary (late James) Hendricks.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Senior Star Memory Care for the loving care provided to Elizabeth.

Betty retired from Electro-Motive of LaGrange after many years of service. She volunteered at St. Joseph Medical Center and the Rialto Theatre for more than 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and wintering in Florida.

Due to current circumstances, services for Betty were held privately. Interment took place at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of her life is being planned for when we can all gather again.
