I used to go to longwood with Jacob. We were in the same class for 3rd grade. I remember I would always have to go to the nurse and take my inhaler and Jacob would go too to check his levels. He was my nurse buddy! We would always joke around and laugh while he drank the juice boxes. He was an amazing friend and loved everyone around him. He will be missed.

Yesterday (11-28-2013) was Thanksgiving Day and we were all together! Jacob was there in my mind, heart and soul! I am grateful for my angel grandchild Jacob and remembering his HUGE HUGS and KISSES - and grandchildren Zak and Alex and all their love and for their mommy and daddy!

Dear Natalie, Kurt, Zack & Alex—I was thinking about Jacob yesterday during the pancake breakfast, and have been thinking about him, and your family, the last few weeks during these current tragedities of Devin, Justin & Olivia. Dear Storey Family, I miss Jacob a lot especially after being in a troop with him for about 9 months. I really liked him a lot and he always knew what he was doing when it came to cooking on the camp outs. During the week of CFL summer camp he was always the first on up and out of his tent and was ready to go! He had really loved scouting and I miss him a lot. Someone that I know for sure that cared for Jacob the most in our troop was Jacob Bernardi, If anyone mentions some about Jacob to him he will start to cry because he misses him a lot and was his best friends in the whole world! Dear Storey Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I sometimes forget that life is a gift, and that every day is a blessing. Type 1 diabetes is so hard to deal with. Our son Matthew has had it since he was 2. I'm just sitting here crying because I am so sorry that your wonderful son passed away. Natalie, Kurtis, and Storey family,
We are so sorry for the loss of Jacob to your family and all his friends. It is truly heart wrenching and we know this will take years to get over but you must get through this time. Remember the memories and enjoy them, share them, keep them alive. I'm glad someone like Jacob is resting next to our daughter Bethani Werner who passed October 24th. Jacob's death is out of order with what we expect just as Bethani's was. May God be with you and your family, you will be in our prayers.

We are a family of three Scouts and it warms my heart to see so many Scouting families supporting you in this difficult time. Although I did not know Jacob it appears that he shared one wonderful quality with Jacob from the Bible - he was determined and willing to work long and hard. Remember God's words in Jacob's dream: "I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go...I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I have promised you." (Genesis 28:15)

Each member of our family was touched by Jacob during his scouting career and the lasting impression he left was his incredible scout spirit.
