Elisabetta Santella Valiante
Elisabetta Santella Valiante, beloved wife of the late Michele Valiante for 69 years, died peacefully at Wilton Meadows on Friday, July 20, 2018. She was 100. Elisabetta was born in Norwalk on November 4, 1917, the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angela Maria (Passarelli) Santella. She was raised in Italy and returned to Norwalk with her family in 1953. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her family.
Survivors include her son Joseph J. Valiante and his wife Antonietta, her daughter, Mary V. Santella, all of Norwalk. four grandchildren; Michael A. Valiante and his wife Maria, Lisa Valiante Pesce and her husband Giovan, Michael A. Santella and Joseph M. Santella, five great grandchildren, Johnny and Cristina Pesce, Salvatore, Giovanna, Francesca Santella and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law Salvatore Santella.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk on Monday, July 23 at 11 a.m. with entombment to follow at St. John Cemetery.
